The next day, Blake slipped a note into Kayla’s purse as they passed in the hall. Blake waited for the break between second and third period to slide a pink envelope inside Marcy’s locker, knowing she wouldn’t be returning to it until the end of the day. During fourth period, Kayla texted Blake, telling him she had done what he asked. At the end of the day, Kayla accompanied Marcy to her locker. When the shorter girl opened the door, the envelope fell out.

“What the fuck is that?” Marcy asked no one, and then picked it up. Her name was written in calligraphy on the envelope. Marcy’s curiosity got the better of her, and she ripped it open. The card inside was also pink, and had a simple message.
